Ice hockey star skates towards success on Kingston Business School marketing course after competing at World University Winter Games
Kingston University student Sam Cheema represented Great Britain in the World University Winter Games men's ice hockey competition in Kazakhstan in January. Sam, in the final year of his marketing communications course, helped the team to their best finish in the tournament and their first ever win in the process.
A Kingston ice hockey star who has been playing the game since he was just seven-years-old is set to go to Kazakhstan next year with Team GB for the World University Games. KU student Sam Cheema was chosen from over 200 students across the country to compete in ice hockey at the Universiade winter games.
Sam Cheema is a semi-professional ice hockey player at KU and has recently earned himself an achievement level scholarship on the sports performance programme. Cheema owes his love for the sport to the 1992 Disney film, Mighty Ducks.
This is a special edition of "The Hudson Valley Hockey Podcast" powered by Kepish.com! In this episode, I chat with Sam Cheema, professional hockey player, author and creative strategist. Be sure to check out his website at www.samcheema.com.
For this episode we had the distinct pleasure of sitting down with Sam Cheema, from Snipetown.com. Sam's a real hockey guy and Snipetown's a real hockey site. Check out their magazine, as well. Plus, there are still Quebec Nordiques fans and they're still crazy after all these years.
Father's Day is Sunday. We're talking about the oft-forgotten hockey Dad and the 1980 Olympic auction which could yield the perfect gift. Don't dawdle. Plus we wrap up our conversation with Snipetown's Sam Cheema.
